Session of DPRK Olympic Committee Held

The Juche 112 (2023) session of the Olympic Committee of the DPRK took place in Pyongyang on March 24.

It was attended by Vice-premier Ri Song Hak of the Cabinet, members of the committee and officials of sports and other related sectors.

The session reviewed the work of the committee for Juche 111 (2022) and discussed the orientation of its work for Juche 112 (2023).

Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports who is chairman of the committee, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers mentioned about the successes and experience gained last year in readjusting and reinforcing the ranks of national team members and reserve players for the national team and putting technical guidance over instruction and training processes on an IT, scientific and modern footing at a high level, true to the sports policy of the Party.

They stressed the need to develop sports science and technology while stepping up the work of bagging more medals in international competitions, build up the material and technical foundation of sports sector and raise a stronger wind of sports across the country.

The session discussed technical issues arising in improving professional sports techniques on a higher level, conducting mass-based sports activities vigorously and further developing physical education and scientific research, and emphasized some problems for improving the anti-doping work.
