KPA Service Personnel Starts Study Tour of Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu

Service personnel of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) started their study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.

An inaugural ceremony took place before the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province on June 1.

Present there were officials of the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces and members of the study tour group.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of President Kim Il Sung and paid tribute to him.

Flags bearing the portraits of smiling Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il entered the meeting place.

Om Hyang Chol, chairman of the KPA committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report.

The reporter said that Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un organized the study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu for commanding officers of the combined units of the KPA and made sure that service personnel made a study tour of them again.

The study tour will mark a milestone of epochal turn in preparing all the service personnel to be ones strong in idea and faith who are firmly armed with the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu, the soul and life of the Korean revolution, and bringing about a great leap forward in boosting military capability with firm confidence in victory, the reporter noted.

He called upon all the service personnel to carry on the march started on Mt. Paektu under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un with the great pride and self-esteem that they are the descendants of Mt. Paektu and successors to the revolution.

Then followed speeches.

The flag of the study tour group was awarded to it.

When the order was issued, members of the study tour group started the march toward Mt. Paektu, holding the flags bearing the portraits of the smiling Generalissimos in the van of the ranks and fluttering flags of the supreme commander, Workers’ Party of Korea, the DPRK and the study tour group.

Leading officials, working people and school youth and children in in the province and the city warmly saw off the members of the study tour group.
