Young People Get Together to Take the Pledge

A meeting of young vanguard to pledge to implement to the letter the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held at Pyongyang Municipal Youth Park Open-Air Theatre on January 10.

It was attended by Ri Tu Song, department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials of the youth league and young people and students in the capital city of Pyongyang.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, delivered a speech.

The speaker stressed the need for young people, the reliable successors to the WPK and the powerful force for socialist construction, to take the lead in the sacred struggle for glorifying this meaningful year which marks the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and the 75th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea as a year of great turn and change.

He ardently called on all youth league officials and members to give fullest play to the spirit and mettle of patriotic youth in the efforts to carry out the decisions of the above-said plenary meeting and vigorously advance towards a new great victory of the Juche revolution and the rosy future of their socialist country, always bearing in their mind the trust and expectations of the WPK.

He was followed by speeches.

A letter of pledge to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, there was a procession of young vanguard.

During the procession, schoolchildren conducted the activities of brass bands and singing squads at the plazas of Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and the Arch of Triumph, Yonggwang and Kwangbok streets and other places.
