Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Sends Greetings to Russian President

Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, on Aug. 15.

The message extended sincere and warm greeting to the president, friendly government and people of Russia on behalf of the government of the DPRK and its people on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Korea.

The DPRK-Russia friendship was firmly forged on the basis of militant unity and comradeship in the flames of the hard-fought great anti-Japanese war against the common enemy, and the Korean people are looking back with deep emotion on the feats performed by the brave servicepersons of the Red Army, sons and daughters of the Russian people, who dedicated their precious lives to the sacred war for liberating Korea, the message said.

It expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, which have developed century after century and generation after generation since they were established by the preceding leaders of the two countries in the years of ordeals, would steadily grow strong at a higher level on the basis of the common understanding and agreement reached at the first meeting between the two top leaders in April last year.

The message sincerely wished the Russian president bigger success in his responsible work for building powerful Russia and the friendly Russian people wellbeing and prosperity. -0-
