Pledge to Uphold Kim Il Sung as Eternal Sun

Over 170 Million Visitors and Nearly 280 000 Floral Baskets over last 20 years.

It has been 20 years since the Korean people’s eternal leader and benevolent father Generalissimo Kim Il Sung passed away unexpectedly to their greatest regret.

An endless stream of people has been visiting the statue of Kim Il Sung on Mansu Hill with more ardent yearning for him and wish for his eternal life.

In 2011, our army and people suffered a great national misfortune with the demise of leader Kim Jong Il whom they had believed in like heaven.

They pledged to hold President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in high esteem at the supreme post of the Party and the state forever and accomplish their cause and erected their statues on Mansu Hill in April 2012 to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung.

According to data available, over the past 20 years more than 170 million people visited here to pay their respect to Kim Il Sung and
Kim Jong Il and nearly 280,000 floral baskets were laid to wish their eternal life.

In the recent 2-odd years since the erection of statues of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il nearly 20 million people visited here.

Among them were service personnel and people of all social standings, overseas Koreans and foreigners.

Over the past 20 years the number of foreign visitors reached over 470,000 of over 44,000 organizations.

It is an eloquent proof of the ardent longing and boundless respect of the Korean people and world progressives for the great Generalissimos who rendered immortal services to the Party and revolution, the country and people and to the cause of global independence.
