Pyongyang, August 25 (KCNA) — A performance was given by winners of the 8th schoolchildren’s individual art contest at the Pyongyang Schoolchildren’s Palace on Sunday, the 53rd Day of Songun. It began with female solo “Father’s Trip to Front.” Put on the stage were folk solo “Royal Azalea on Chol Pass”, piano solo “Song of Korea”, a famous masterpiece, and other colorful numbers. The performers sang high praises of the undying feats the great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il performed by fully demonstrating the dignity and national power of Kim Il Sung’s Korea and providing an eternal foundation for prosperity of the generation to come through his energetic leadership under the uplifted banner of Songun. Oungum solo “Where Are You, Dear General?”, a famous masterpiece, and other numbers mesmerized the audience as they reflected the ardent longing and reverence for Kim Jong Il, who protected the happiness of the rising generation while making ceaseless long journeys for Songun all his life. The performance ended with small chorus “Toward Rosy Future, Being Blessed with Marshal”. It was acclaimed by the audience for truthfully representing the enthusiasm of the children to stoutly prepare themselves to be young guards remaining intensely loyal to Marshal Kim Jong Un and the excellent pillars of strong Korea, knowledgeable, virtuous and physically healthy. Among the audience were Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the youth league, officials concerned, those of the youth league and youth and students in Pyongyang. -0-
