National Flower Exhibition Held

Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) — The National Flower Exhibition was held in the April 15 Children’s Flower Garden from October 8 to 12 with the 68th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea as an occasion.

Participated in the exhibition were ministries and national institutions, including the General Bureau of Pleasure Park and floriculturists across the country.

More than 300 species of flowers and shrubs, which accounted for over 32 000 pieces, were put on display in the way of being potted or forming miniascape.

What caught the visitors’ eyes were the miniatures of the Arch of Triumph and the Monument to Party Founding bedecked with flowers and shrubs by floricultural units in Pyongyang City.

Among those exhibits was a Korean map shaped with an ornamental shrub, on which were floral letters meaning “one” in reflection of the Korean people’s desire for national reunification.

Conspicuous were also the flowers and plants exhibited by North Hamgyong, North Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces.

The exhibition witnessed various forms of plant sculptures and hedges.

The exhibitors shared a range of experiences they gained in cultivating flowers and other plants. -0-
