Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defense Commission of the DPRK, provided field guidance to the November 2 Factory of the Korean People’s Army (KPA).

The factory produces varieties of foodstuffs including confectionery and bread for service personnel.

Kim Jong Un, who is also KPA Supreme Commander, had given an instruction to the factory to build a modern snack production process to provide service personnel with tasty and nutritious snacks on a regular basis.

True to his instruction, KPA Unit 534 and officials and workers of the factory successfully built a production building with a large capacity as required by the new century in a short span of time. They are now keeping the snack production going at a high rate.

Kim Jong Un went round the hall dedicated to the history of the factory built in May 1947 at the initiative of President Kim Il Sung.

He looked back with deep emotion on the history of the factory developed under the deep care of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu who spared nothing for the service personnel.

He was very pleased with the construction of the new modern snack production process, noting it has become possible to realize the desire of the President and leader Kim Jong Il, who made so much effort in their lifetime to solve the issue of food for the service personnel.

Going round various places of the factory including candy and biscuit shops, he gave precious instructions to be implemented by the factory for its operation and management.

Dropping in at its combined control room, he called for thoroughly establishing modern monitoring, control and command systems to put the production processes on the computer basis.

It is the determination of the WPK to supply tasty and nutritious snacks and foodstuffs to service personnel on a regular basis, he said, underlining the need to boost production and improve the quality of products on the basis of the expanded production capacity of the factory.

Expressing the belief that the workers of the factory would successfully carry out their honorable duties, he set the goals to be attained by the factory in different phases.

During his field guidance, Kim Jong Un was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK. -0-
