International Day of Older Persons Marked in DPRK

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) — The International Day of Older Persons was marked in the DPRK where the aged are respected as revolutionary forerunners and as elders of society and families under the care of the Korean-style socialist system.

Officials of the Party and power organs in the capital city of Pyongyang visited the Pyongyang Old People’s Home to give souvenirs and foodstuffs to its inmates, who devoted themselves to building a thriving country, and take warm care of them.

Peculiar services for the old people were offered at Okryu Restaurant, Chongryu Restaurant, Hyangmanru Restaurant and other public catering establishments in the city.

Special services were also given at welfare service faculties.

Meanwhile, there were colorful works for the elderly in different parts of the country.

The elderly spent a pleasant time that day, leading a cultural and emotional life of diverse forms. -0-
