Fireworks Display Marks V-Day

Fireworks were displayed in Pyongyang on July 27, the 67th anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

A large number of people gathered in different parts of the capital city near the Tower of the Juche Idea, including Okryu Bridge and Taedonggang Bridge, to watch the fireworks.

At 21:00, fireworks were shot off to form a five-pointed star as a token of respect of people for the victors in the great years over the sky of the Tower of the Juche Idea amid the playing of “Song of National Defence”.

The display of gorgeous multicolour fireworks represented the deep reverence of the people for President Kim Il Sung, the invincible and iron-willed commander who wrote the history and tradition of eternal victory of heroic Korea by wisely leading the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War.

Fireworks of various shapes and colours lighted up the nocturnal sky.

Fireworks were set off in succession to the tune of the songs “Festival of the Great War Victory” and “We Will Defend General Kim Jong Un with Our Lives”, revving up the festive mood.
