Day of Songun Celebrated across Country

The service personnel and people of the DPRK celebrated the 56th anniversary of ChairmanKim Jong Il’s start of the Songun revolutionary leadership (the Day of Songun).

A large number of people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme sanctuary of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state.

Entering the plaza park, the masses made bows to the portraits of the smiling great leaders.

Service personnel and people visited the statues of the great leaders and portraits of the smiling great leaders on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country before laying floral baskets, bouquets and flowers and paid homage to them.

Concert “Blue Sky over My Country” was given by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre in Pyongyang and music and dance story “Autobiography of Youth” at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre.

Revolutionary drama “A Letter from a Daughter” was given at the National Theatre and acrobatic performance and magic performance were given at the Pyongyang Circus Theatre and the Magic Theatre.

Art performances were given by provincial art troupes in Sinuiju, Haeju, Kanggye, Chongjin, Hamhung, Hyesan and other places.

Art performance “Great Songun feats will be immortal” was given by the artistes of the North Hwanghae Provincial Art Squad, an oratorical meeting “Place Youth in Era of Songun Should Stand” by the youth and students in North Phyongan Province and an art performance by members of the women’s union and youths and students at Haean Square of Wonsan City.

A men’s football game between the Ryesonggang Sports Team and the Wolmido Football Team took place at the Sariwon Youth Stadium.
