18th Kimjongilia Festival Opens!

The 18th Kimjongilia Festival opened here on Friday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.
Displayed at the venue of the festival are potted immortal flowers cultivated with much care by armed forces organs, ministries, national institutions and many other units, service personnel, people and school youth and children.
On display there are potted flowers of the sun presented by the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), overseas Koreans, foreign diplomatic missions and missions of international bodies here, foreign friendship and solidarity organizations, foreigners and Chinese residents in the DPRK.
Present at the opening ceremony Kim Ki Nam, Yang Hyong Sop, officials concerned, officials of the units, service personnel and people who displayed the flowers of the sun.
Also on hand were overseas Koreans delegations, overseas Koreans and foreign guests.
Kim Chang Do, chairman of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, made an opening address.
He said that the festival is the one of flowers wishing for immortality representing longing and reverence of the Korean people and other progressive mankind for Kim Jong Il. -0-
