Joint Friendship Gathering Marks International Children’s Day

A joint friendship gathering took place at the Taesongsan Amusement Park on Saturday, the 69th anniversary of the International Children’s Day.

Attending it were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Thae Hyong Chol, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People’s Committee, and officials concerned, kindergarteners, kindergarten teachers and women here.

Present there were diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies’ missions and staff members of foreign embassies here, foreign children and women and other foreign guests and overseas compatriots staying in the homeland.

Jang Chun Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, in her address made at the gathering congratulated the Korean children and young foreign participants upon the June 1 International Children’s Day.

Amid the playing of the song “Flower Buds’ Holiday”, the children danced and did a rhythmic exercise to show their happiness and bright and cheerful appearances.

Then sports and amusement games were held.

After the games, the children had a pleasant time, having a circle dance and enjoying amusement facilities.

Meanwhile, International Children’s Day was marked in each province.
